First Year: Daddy Must-Haves

Printer-Friendly Format

The babies are here. How's your man doing? If you're looking for some products to keep him in the game, this is the section for you (and if your man is here on his own looking for ways to better support the whole situation, we'd like to say, "You rock. And we'd like to interview you.").

Daddy Must-Haves
Dads need a diaper bag. But, chances are, mom's green paisley number isn't one he's going to feel great about carrying around. Or maybe he will. But, all dads of twins need a proper diaper bag to take with them when they're ready to hit the road with the babies for a few hours to give mom a bit of a break. Bags from The Diaper Dude are consistently well-made, masculine, and cool. In fact, we moms wouldn't mind having one ourselves!
With two babies in the house, Dad definitely needs a way to carry one hands-free so he can do things (say, the dishes -- but not the lawn mowing) with baby in tow. Thankfully, the Baby K'Tan fits well -- even tall dads -- comes in a variety of patterns, and lasts years if necessary, providing a comfortable way to carry at least one of your bundles.
No, we're not suggesting that your husband needs his own baby bathtub! Many dads like to find a routine activity that is their responsibility. Bath time makes perfect sense. Let dad be in charge of registering for or purchasing the babies' bathtub and the supplies that go with it (baby soap, washcloths, etc.). Initially, it may take two of you to bathe a baby, but longer term, bath time can be dad's special one-on-one time with each slippery bundle.
